FORT SALEM THEATER COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

Fort Salem Theater is following the current NYS and CDC COVID-related recommendations. Our staff and volunteers will closely monitor local and national health and safety information, and will continue to update the following in-house rules as applicable.

At this time, proof is vaccination is not required for our patrons nor artists. Face covering are optional, but are not required. The following protocols are subject to change as necessary.

 

Patrons and Guests

Performances and Lobby Policies

  • Patrons are encouraged to purchase tickets online or over the phone when possible.

  • All seating will be assigned in advance, with the MainStage front row remaining unsold to allow distance between the performers and the audience.

  • Masks are suggested, but are not required inside the building.

  • Smoking will not be permitted anywhere on the Fort Salem Theater property.

  • Patrons exhibiting COVID symptoms will be offered a refund or rescheduled ticket, but will not be allowed in the building without a negative COVID test result.

  • All high-touch areas, including seating, bathrooms, and stair railings will be cleaned and sanitized frequently.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available by all theatre entrances and exits.

Artists and Staff

Auditions:

  • At auditions and callbacks, 6-foot social distancing will be suggested in all waiting areas, with 12 feet suggested between singers and creative team members.

  • A trained COVID Compliance Officer will be present at all in-person audition events. 

Rehearsals:

  • When possible, digital rehearsal materials will be provided in advance in an effort to reduce the number of in-person rehearsals.

  • Only essential artists and creative team members will be permitted in rehearsal room(s), as indicated on pre-published rehearsal schedule.

  • Mask wearing is optional, unless a positive COVID case in the company is detected, at which point a COVID compliance officer will release a schedule for masking and testing, as necessary.

  • A trained COVID Compliance Officer will be present at all in-person rehearsals.

Dressing Rooms & Costume Fittings:

  • The sharing of makeup, water bottles and other personal items will be strictly prohibited.

  • Performers are responsible for the cleaning and sanitation of assigned dressing room stations and personal items.

General:

  • Artists who exhibit any COVID-related symptoms will not be allowed back in the theatre without confirmation of a negative Covid test.
